Player on “Jurgen Klopp’s list” worth more than €100M has not agreed a new contract

Player on “Jurgen Klopp’s list” worth more than €100M has not agreed a new contract

Liverpool are one of the clubs closely watching Jamal Musiala with his Bayern Munich contract winding down with no signs of a contract extension on the horizon.

As things stand, the young forward is out of contract on 30 June 2026 but Bayern want to extend his terms beyond that.

The German international is one of the most exciting players to have a breakthrough in the last few years and most clubs in Europe would welcome him into their squads.

Jamal Musiala has not yet signed a new Bayern Munich contra

According to Fabrizio Romano, Musiala has not yet signed a new deal with Bayern which will be music to the ears of interested clubs.

“There is also no update so far on a new deal for Jamal Musiala,” Romano said.

The journalist continued: "Bayern are focused on the January window and so there is no news on contracts.

“They obviously want to keep Musiala for the long term so as their director Christoph Freund said. I see them negotiating with Musiala in the next months, and we will see how that story develops.”

Fabrizio Romano in October: Musiala is on "Jurgen Klopp's list"

In October, it was reported that the Bayern forward is on "Jurgen Klopp's list."

The future of the club's attack is unclear with Mohamed Salah yet to indicate what his plans are beyond the 2024/25 season and the Musiala could be a player targeted to replace him.

The two attackers are very different players but Musiala will be one of Europe's best forwards for many years to come and would not be out of place in Liverpool's exciting team.

If he were to be Salah's replacement, not as a right wing but as the side's talisman, it would require a tactics tweak given the 20-year-old does his best work in central areas.

Liverpool have sometimes lacked a genuine threat down the middle of the pitch so it would be a welcome change in games where their wide threat is nullified.

Of course, it's rare that the Reds are truly stifled but Musiala's ability to wriggle through tight areas sometimes defies logic.

That kind of penetrative attacking style would be quite something against sides that defend with a low-block.

For now, this is just a dream but Musiala is out of contract at the end of the 2025/26 season and Bayern will be desperate not to lose him at all but will be even more loathe to lose him for free.
