Confirmed Liverpool transfer decision will put an end to Jurgen Klopp’s selection headache

Liverpool have recalled Owen Beck from his loan spell with Dundee United as Jurgen Klopp looks for a way to deal with his left-back injury crisis.

The German has once again worked miracles with his squad.

Despite finishing outside the top four last season before selling most of his midfielders, replacing them with four more, Liverpool are top of the Premier League table after 20 games.

Yet, it has not been without challenge. Aside from some pretty dodgy refereeing this season, the German manager has had to contend with several injuries to defenders.

Specifically, left-back has been an issue. Robertson has already missed 20 games this season due to his dislocated shoulder which required surgery.

Kostas Tsimikas is now out as well after breaking his collarbone against Arsenal after Bukayo Saka barged him off the pitch into Jurgen Klopp.

So what is Liverpool's solution?

Liverpool may still decide to sign a senior left-back but Dundee United have officially confirmed that Owen Beck has been recalled by the Reds and will not complete his season-long loan.

Their official statement reads: "Dundee Football Club can confirm that Liverpool have recalled Owen Beck and his loan with Dundee has ended. Owen signed on loan for Dundee in the summer and quickly became an important player for The Dee putting in fantastic performances.

"His great displays led to him being called up to the Welsh National squad for the first time and he has received many plaudits for his performances. With the January transfer window now open Liverpool FC have executed their right to recall Owen from his season-long loan deal. Owen will be greatly missed by everyone at Dundee FC as he has been outstanding both on and off the field.

"We would like to thank Owen for all he has given to Dundee FC and we wish him all the very best for the future. Owen will always be welcomed back in Dundee and at the Scot Foam Stadium at Dens Park."
