Liverpool should be considering signing Riccardo Calafiori this summer; the 22-year-old is currently playing for Italian side Bologna.

Fabrizio Romano reports Calafiori is on the radar of several prominent European teams following his outstanding season.

It is reported that Juventus are long admirers of the Italian, therefore Liverpool will have to compete with the Italian giants for his services if they deem him an ideal target.

While so far he has not been linked with a move to Anfield, he'd be a perfect fit.

Who is he?

The Promising youngster began his career ever-growing career with AS Roma in 2020, making his professional debut in a 3-1 away triumph over Juventus, when he gained a penalty that Perotti converted.

Two years later, he left to join Basel on a permanent basis, but things did not go as planned or anticipated.

He then returned to his native Italy to join Bologna where he has swiftly blossomed into one of the top young prospects under the guidance of Thiago Motta.

Riccardo Calafiori is usually associated with central defence, although he can also play fullback, mainly on the left side.

Because of his ability to carry the ball similarly to Joel Matip, he is frequently referred to as a well-packaged player.

Ball retention is an important aspect of his game, and his speed allows him to recover when necessary.

In Bologna's most recent match against Juventus, he played 75 minutes, scored two goals, and completed 100% of his dribbles.

Stats and Facts

He has appeared in 30 Serie A games and has directly contributed to 7 goals (2 goals and 5 assists).

Four of his seven goal contributions have came in his last five outings, including a brace against Juventus and assists against AS Roma and SSC Napoli.

In addition to the creative aspects of his game, the 10 clean sheets he has helped secure this season demonstrate his defensive resilience.

Reports from Tutto Juve’s Mirko Di Natale suggest he could potentially be available for as little as €25 million (£21.3M).
